At Elation Communications, we partner with organizations that are not only serving communities—but reshaping what opportunity looks like for the next generation.
Team Dunk Corporation is one of those organizations, and at the center of its impact is founder Simone Harris.
A Mission Rooted in Real Experience
Simone Harris didn’t set out to create just another youth program. Her vision for Team Dunk was born from years of working closely with children and families—and recognizing a consistent gap.
Too many young people had talent. Too many had potential. But not enough had the confidence, guidance, or support systems to fully realize it.
Rather than wait for change, Simone built it.
Team Dunk Corporation was created as a direct response to that need—a platform designed to meet youth where they are and guide them toward who they can become.
More Than Basketball: A Multi-Dimensional Approach
While basketball is the entry point, Team Dunk is anything but a traditional sports program.
Under Simone’s leadership, the organization brings together sports, music, mentorship, storytelling, and digital engagement into a cohesive experience. This approach allows Team Dunk to connect with young people in ways that feel authentic and relevant. Through drills, music, and character-driven storytelling, youth are building confidence, discipline, and self-belief alongside their athletic skills.
Characters like Little Dunk and Turbo Dunk help translate life lessons into relatable, memorable experiences. Turbo Dunk, who uses a wheelchair as his superpower, reframes difference as strength—reinforcing a powerful message that what makes you different can also be what makes you extraordinary.
Turning Personal Pain Into Purpose
What makes Simone’s leadership especially powerful is the lived experience behind it.
After her son was sentenced to life in prison, Simone faced a moment that could have defined her story in silence. Instead, she chose to transform that pain into purpose.
That experience deepened her commitment to reaching young people earlier—before they face life-altering decisions—by surrounding them with mentorship, encouragement, and opportunity.
Team Dunk is not just a program. It is her response.
Inclusive by Design
Inclusion is not simply a value within Team Dunk—it is the foundation of everything the organization creates.
Every child who enters the Team Dunk environment is met with encouragement and respect, regardless of background or skill level. Simone has been intentional about building a space where young people feel seen, supported, and reflected in the stories and leadership around them.
That visibility matters. When young people see themselves, they begin to believe in what’s possible for their own lives.
Growing a Global Movement
What started as a community-driven initiative is now expanding beyond borders.
Team Dunk’s first international step—Team Dunk Ghana—marks the beginning of a broader vision to create global pathways for youth development through sports, mentorship, and cultural connection.
Through clinics, partnerships, and community engagement, Simone is extending Team Dunk’s reach to young people around the world—proving that the need for confidence, connection, and guidance is universal.
Amplifying Impact That Matters
Team Dunk represents what happens when purpose is backed by action and leadership is grounded in real experience.
At Elation Communications, this is exactly the kind of work we are committed to elevating.
Organizations like Team Dunk are creating meaningful, measurable change—and our role is to ensure their stories reach the audiences, partners, and opportunities they deserve. Through strategic storytelling and communications, we help amplify their voice, expand their visibility, and support their long-term growth.
Because impact like this should not operate in the background.
It should be seen.
It should be supported.
And it should be amplified.

It's also the exact reason so much testimonial content feels a little hollow: it was collected as a transaction, and transactions produce transactional material, even when the underlying story is genuinely moving. Real consent isn't a form. It's a conversation — one...
Thank-you notes. Application follow-ups. The message a parent sent at 11 p.m. because something moved them enough to write it down unprompted. Nobody hired an agency to craft that language. Nobody workshopped it in a meeting. It's real, and real is exactly what's been...
